Snowmobile Ride on Langjökull Glacier
Description
At the time indicated, we'll meet at base camp in Kjóastaðir, between Geysir and Gullfoss. From here, we'll board a 4x4 vehicle that will take us to the impressive Langjökull glacier. Are you ready to drive a snowmobile?
From the vehicle, we'll enjoy incredible views of the Eiríksjökull and Hofsjökull glaciers, as well as the Kerlingafjöll mountains. Once in Langjökull, we'll don all the necessary equipment and give you a safety briefing before starting the snowmobile activity. Let's go!
Along the route, we'll reach 1450 metres (4757 feet) above sea level as we explore what is known as the "white glacier". We'll have so much fun visiting a real natural ice cave!
Inside the cave, we'll marvel at its translucent blue ice ceiling which looks like a frozen river. Did you know that it's formed of layers of white ice and volcanic ash? You'll have around 15 minutes to explore it and take in this natural beauty.
Once out of the cave, we'll board the snowmobiles again to head back to base camp, where we'll end this day full of excitement. We expect to arrive around 5 hours from the start of the activity.
