On this trip to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and Mundaka, we'll depart from Bilbao to check out the famous Dragonstone from Game of Thrones and visit a historic town and one of the meccas in the surfing world.

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the puppy floral sculpture at the Guggenheim Museum, and from there we'll make our way north.
After a journey of around 30 minutes, we'll arrive at San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, one of the most famous locations on the Basque Coastline. Once there, which. the Game of Thrones fans will recognize as Dragonstone, we'll climb 241 steps to the 10th-century hermitage that sits at the top of this 79 metre (259 feet) rock.
From the viewpoint situated at the foot of the hermitage, we'll take in some extraordinary views of the Bizkaia coastline. After enjoying the views, we'll leave San Juan de Gaztelugatxe behind and continue this trip, passing by Cape Matxitxako and the town of Bermeo.
Afterwards, we'll make a second stop in Mundaka. In this fishing town, famous for being a popular surfing destination, we'll take a stroll towards the harbour and the Church of Santa María. We'll also visit the Urdaibai Estuary viewpoint, to take in the views of the mouth of the Oca River, which flows into the Cantabrian Sea.
Next, we'll visit the village of Guernica to learn about the history of the Basque Country. We'll make our way towards the Guernica tree and learn about the tragic story of how this town was bombed during the Spanish Civil War. We'll also make a stop at a mural of one of Picasso's paintings.
Finally, we'll begin our return journey towards Bilbao, where we'll arrive back at the meeting point after around 6 hours together.

To visit Gaztelugatxe, on the days with controlled access (see calendar), a free ticket is required for the tour, the remaining days and those outside controlled hours, access is free. The local tour provider is responsible for booking this ticket.
