Tour Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the City Circle stop at Kurfürstendamm 216 in Berlin. From there, we'll board a comfortable coach as we head towards Potsdam, the capital of Brandenburg.
Famed for its royal residences and gardens, Potsdam's cultural landscape has earned UNESCO World Heritage status. On arrival, we'll make our way to the jewel of Potsdam: Sanssouci Palace, the former summer retreat of King Frederick the Great. Completed in 1747 in Rococo style, this palace is a masterpiece of architecture and design.
We'll enjoy an audio-guided tour of the palace’s opulent rooms, its magnificent gardens, and surrounding stately buildings. Throughout the tour, we'll discover the meaning behind the name and delve into the fascinating history of this royal residence.
After we're done exploring the palace, our guide will lead us on a guided tour around the city, with brief stops at some of Potsdam’s highlights, including the charming Dutch Quarter, the iconic Glienicke Bridge, and the unique Russian colony of Alexandrovka. We'll also see the baroque grandeur of the City Palace, the historic Old Market Square, and the imposing St Nicholas' Church.
Finally, we'll head back to Berlin, bringing the tour to an end at the starting point after a total of 4 hours.
