Charlottenburg Palace Tour + Potsdam Day Trip
Activity Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Spandauer Street, number 9. From this point in Berlin, we'll head by bus to the west of the city, where the Charlottenburg Palace awaits.
The former summer residence of Sophia Charlotte of Hanover dates back to the end of the 17th century. To learn all about the luxurious Baroque-style rooms, we'll embark on a tour of the Charlottenburg Palace with an audio guide in English. This device will help you fully appreciate the decoration of the lavish rooms, such as the Porcelain Room.
After visiting the palace, we'll leave Berlin behind and set off to Potsdam. Once in this picturesque town, we'll first stop at New Palace. This giant palace was the last monument initiated by Frederick the Great, and stands out due to its facade's pink tones.
We'll admire this old residence from the outside and then, we'll continue our tour of Potsdam by heading to the Sanssouci Palace, where we'll marvel at the golden colors of its architecture.
Afterward, we'll head to the center. During the bus ride, you'll get to take in the beautiful views of the Brandenburg Gate. Lastly, we'll stop in front of the Cecilienhof Palace, one of the most important sites in World War II. It was here where Churchill, Truman, and Stalin met to decide Germany's destiny.
Finally, we'll begin our journey back to Berlin, where we'll conclude this 8-hour tour in front of the Berlin Zoologischer Garten station.
