No cars, no motorbikes... just legendary tales of love and loss entwining each bridge. Venice is unique in the world: feel its magic with this day trip.
Itinerary
Meet at the indicated time at Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII, climbing on board our bus and hitting the road to the romantic city of canals.
The visit begins with a boat tour along the Venice Grand Canal. On our ride we'll pass beneath the Rialto Bridge, one of the major arteries between the banks of the canal, taking us to Venice's nerve centre: St. Mark's Square.
From here we set out on foot, making a two hour long guided tour of Venice. We begin with the giant bell tower of the St. Mark's Basilica, which was the scene for Galileo's first presentation of his telescope in the 17th century. And we'll take a look at the arcades in the Doge's palace, the greatest exponent of Venecian grandeur. Anyone would think this beautiful building also served as a prison...
The condemned men who found themselves in this prison last saw the sky and the sea from a bridge found at the back of the Doge's Palace - known as the 'Bridge of Sighs' its name has nothing to do with the romantic image which many think. And afterwards, you'll have free time to eat and tour the surroundings of St Mark's before getting back on the bus.
The tour returns to Bergamo 12.5 hours later.
