We will pick you up from your hotel in Bentota at 8:30 am, from where we head north to the city of Kalutara, just 40 minutes away.
We will arrive at the Kalutara temple, one of the most important places of worship in the country for Buddhists. This beautiful temple has the oldest hollow stupa in all of Sri Lanka. It is also one of the biggest, and can be seen from anywhere in the city! Here, you will discover the sacred Kalutara Bodhiya fig tree, and learn all about its fascinating history!
After this fascinating visit, we will have lunch at one of the city's restaurants before heading to Lunuganga.
The famous Sri Lankan architect, Sir Geoffrey Bawa, was an iconic industrial pioneer, not just in his own country, but also worldwide. We will learn about his fascinating history while touring his estate and admiring his impressive gardens. You will see many examples of his huge talent!
We will finish the private tour back at your hotel in Bentota, aarriving at 5:30 pm.
