Why visit the Epopeia Italiana Cultural Park?
Over 150 years ago, huge amounts of Italians began arriving on Brazilian shores, mainly in the southern and southeastern regions of the country. Did you know that between 1880 and 1960, 1.5 million Italians moved to Brazil? If you are interested in learning more about this incredibly interesting side of Brazilian history, book your tickets now for the Epopeia Italiana Cultural Park.
In this park, of over 2000 square metres of covered space and 9 separate stages, you'll learn about the famous couple Lazaro and Rosa, through dramatic performances in Portuguese. These two Italian immigrants suffered many setbacks before arriving in Brazil but, after many sacrifices, achieved much success on Gaucha lands.
On this immersive tour of the park, you'll visit the house of Lazaro in Pedersano, Italy, the boat in which the couple travelled to reach Rio Grande del Sur which became their home once they had arrived in Brazil. After the visit, you'll understand how the Italian immigrants completely overhauled the culture of southern Brazil.
To end the tour, you'll enjoy a cookie tasting.
