We'll pick you up at 8 am at your hotel to start this tour of the wineries of Bento Gonçalves and Garibaldi. Are you ready to get to know some of the best wine estates in Brazil?
The Vale dos Vinhedos is located between the towns of Bento Gonçalves, Garibaldi and Monte Belo do Sul. In these parts of the Serra Gaúcha it's impossible not to notice the strong influence of Italian culture in Brazil, a legacy of the immigrants who brought their customs and traditions from the Old Continent, among which the cultivation of grapes stands out.
We'll begin our visit at Vinícola Aurora, a cooperative that began its production in the 1930s and that more than 90 years later brings together 1100 associated families that produce an average of 50 million kilos of grapes per year. All this makes it the largest wine cooperative in Latin America. Isn't it impressive?
After a tour of its facilities, we'll enjoy a wine tasting and then we'll leave for the second estate of the day: the Vinícola Garibaldi. Named after the politician Giuseppe Garibaldi, this winery is responsible for the production of world-famous wines and champagnes. We'll visit it and taste some of its products before moving on to the last winery: Casa Valduga. Its origins date back to the 19th century and, after getting to know it, we'll taste its main wines.
Between the visits we'll take a break for an Italian lunch, with a menu consisting of typical dishes such as pasta, risotto, chicken, polenta or cheese.
Finally, we'll return to Bento Gonçalves and drop you off at your hotel around 4 pm.
