At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the Benicassim Tourist Office. From there we'll travel 50 kilometers by minibus to Vall de Uxó, where we'll find the incredible St. Joseph's Caves. Known as Coves de Sant Josep in Valencian, this grotto is truly a geological gem. It'll come as no surprise that it's been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We'll start our visit by boat, cruising 800 meters down the underground river while we admire the magnitude of the caves. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for paintings on the rocks and fossils nestled in the cavities - evidence of the caves' inhabitants over 15,000 years ago!
Continuing on by foot, we'll walk through a 250-meter dry section of the caves, marveling at the impressive stalactites and stalagmites up close. Fun fact: no matter the season, the caves maintain a temperature of 20ºC throughout the entire year.
After 40 minutes of this underground adventure, we'll leave the cave and head back to the minibus. We'll return to Benicassim, bringing our 4-hour and 45 minute tour to an end.
