Ouro Preto & Mariana Tour
From your hotel in Belo Horizonte, where we'll pick you up between 7 and 8 am, we'll travel to two important historical cities in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.
The first stop will be in Ouro Preto, a World Heritage Site town. In this beautiful city, whose foundation dates back to the 18th century, we'll enjoy a guided tour of the historic centre. During the walk we'll see such outstanding monuments as the church of São Francisco de Assis or the minor basilica of Nossa Senhora do Pilar: the two great monumental jewels of the old town.
We'll continue our tour of Ouro Preto passing by the Casa dos Contos Museum. We'll also take a walk along the Rua Direita, which is located on a steep hillside of the city. Afterwards, you'll have an hour at leisure to have lunch in one of the restaurants in the old town.
Afterwards, we'll leave Ouro Preto and head towards Mariana. On our walk through this picturesque municipality, considered one of the most beautiful in Minas Gerais, we'll see several monuments from the colonial period. Among them are the Prison Chamber and House, the Cathedral and the Basilica of Nossa Senhora da Assunção.
After learning about the history of Mariana and its main colonial monuments, we'll return to Belo Horizonte.
Arrival at your hotel at 6 pm.
