Icoaraci Pottery Tour
Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel at the scheduled time and make our way to Icoaraci, located just 18 kilometers (11 miles) from downtown Belém. Did you know that this northern Brazilian town is renowned for its ceramic craftsmanship? Brace yourself for a tour that promises to captivate you from start to finish!
Throughout our tour of Icoaraci, we'll explore various pottery workshops and meet ceramic artisans who will share insights into their craft. As we delve into the heart of Icoaraci, you'll discover one of Pará state's primary hubs for handicraft production. Ever heard of the Icoaraciense, Marajoara, and Tapajônica cultures? We'll fill you in!
At each workshop, artisans will guide us through the step-by-step process of creating ceramic pieces while shedding light on the intricate details embedded in their crafts. You'll also have some opportunities to buy some souvenirs.
Upon concluding our pottery tour, we'll head to the Icoaraci waterfront, where you can enjoy a refreshing sip of coconut water if you wish.
After approximately four hours of exploration, we'll wrap up the Icoaraci pottery tour back at your hotel in Belém.
