If you're in Belém, you can't miss out on a visit to Mosqueiro Island, located just off the southern bank of the Pará River. You're in for a treat with its stunning beaches!
Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Belém at the specified time to start our trip to Mosqueiro Island, situated north of the city. The island boasts an impressive 17 kilometers (10.5 miles) of beautiful beaches.
Did you know that the island got its name from a technique used by indigenous people to preserve game and fish? We'll share the story behind this interesting tidbit with you. To get to the island, we'll cross the Sebastião R. de Oliveira Bridge, a massive 1,485-meter (nearly a mile long!) structure.
Once we arrive, our adventure begins. We'll start by visiting Praça Matriz, where you can try a traditional tapioca. Then, we'll explore the village of Mosqueiro, checking out the Matriz Church and sharing some intriguing stories about the island's history.
Afterward, we'll head to the beach, giving you some free time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and have lunch at your own pace. Take your time to taste the local cuisine!
Finally, after around seven hours of exploration, we'll take you back to your Belém hotel.
