Bassam excellent guide. It's a shame that the war affects tourism in Syria since the places visited are beautiful. All meals were fulfilled, but the tour operator had not informed the guide that they were included. Hotel Al Fares in Damascus, smells too much of cigarettes, torn bedspreads and dirty blankets.

Description

Day 1: Damascus

Welcome to Syria! Upon arriving at either Damascus or Beirut airport, we'll be ready to assist you with the formalities of entering the country. Afterwards, we'll bring you to your hotel in Damascus to spend the next two nights.

Day 2: Damascus

On this day, we'll discover the impressive city of Damascus. Our visit will be to the National Archaeology Museum, where we'll learn about the origins of the capital of Syria and we'll recount the different ages of its history through various exhibitions. After, we'll see the Azem Palace, which will help you get an idea of how the noble demascenes once lived.

We'll continue our tour at the Saladino Mausoleum, one of the greatest sultans in the Islamic world, and the Umayyad Mosque, one of the most interesting cultural locations in the Muslim world from an archaeological point of view. We'll also tour Right Street, Saint Ananias Chapel and the Window of Saint Paul, in addition, we'll visit the Damascus souks and lose ourselves amongst their stalls.

We'll spend the night in the hotel in Damascus

Day 3: Damascus - Maaloula - Krak des Chevaliers - Homs

After learning about the secrets of old Damascus, we'll have breakfast and head towards Maaloula, around 65 kilometres (40 miles) away. We'll visit this curious town known for its houses built into the rock and where the Aram language is still spoken, the language that was used by Jesus of Nazareth.

The tour will continue at Krak des Chevaliers, an impressive templar fort whose mysteries will be revealed to us. After visiting it and learning about the templar knights of Tripoli, its founders, we'll make our way towards Homs, where we'll spend the night.

Day 4: Homs - Palmyra - Damascus

We'll begin the day with breakfast in the hotel, before making our way to the ruins of Palmyra, which is a World Heritage Site. Are you ready to visit one of the greatest archaeological jewels in Syria?

Despite the damages suffered through past years, Palmyra's monumental collection is still in a very good state, and the ruins of the Temple of Bel, Arch of Triumph, the Great Colonnade, the Agora and the theatre can still be seen to this day. We'll also visit the Necropolis of Palmyra, situated right in the mountains, where we'll admire the different types of tombs.

Finally, we'll head back to Damascus to rest at the hotel.
