Beiteddine Palace & Deir Al Qamar Tour
Beiteddine Palace & Deir Al Qamar Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Beirut at 11 am and travel in a comfortable minibus to Mount Lebanon, where the small village of Deir el Qamar awaits us. Let's get to know it!
Upon arrival, we'll take a walking tour to get to know this beautiful Lebanese town. Did you know that it was the capital of Mount Lebanon until the 19th century? We'll stroll through its cobbled streets as we discover the fascinating history of this town nicknamed the "Monastery of the Moon".
In Deir el Qamar we'll contemplate the Al-Midan square, the Fahr El-Dine Maan Mosque, the Emir Younes Maan Palace and the Fakhreddine II Palace. Moreover, the mixture of cultures is also present in this town, so we can see how mosques, synagogues and churches coexist in its streets.
Next, we'll head to a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious Lebanese meal. With your appetite satiated, we'll return to the minibus and drive to the Beiteddine Palace, known as the "Alhambra of Lebanon".
We'll explore this palace, built on the top of a hill in the 19th century by Emir Bashir II to establish his residence. Our next stop will be the Midan, the large entrance courtyard that welcomes visitors, and we'll pass through the different rooms of the palace, such as the Madafa, Dar al Wusta, Dar al Harim and the Beiteddine hammam.
Finally, with a camera full of impressive photographs, we'll return to Beirut. The tour will end at your hotel at approximately 5 pm.
