Baalbek + Zahle Wineries Guided Tour
Baalbek + Zahle Wineries Guided Tour
We'll pick you up from your Beirut hotel at 8:30 am and head for the Bekaa Valley, specifically Baalbek, a city that boasts some of the most fascinating temples in the world.
We'll arrive in what is known as the City of the Sun and follow in the footsteps of the Phoenicians and Romans in the Beqaa Valley. We'll visit the most important temple complex in the world, admiring the Temple of Bacchus, the Temple of Jupiter and the Temple of Venus, three authentic jewels of classical antiquity.
Throughout the tour, we'll tell you some of the most surprising stories that have taken place in Baalbek. For example, did you know that the temple dedicated to Jupiter still has the largest columns in the world? We'll also discover the Islamic remains in this part of Lebanon, such as the Great Mosque.
After marvelling at these monuments, we'll go to a local restaurant to enjoy a traditional Lebanese meal consisting of a Lebanese dish and a drink. With our batteries recharged, we'll head to the town of Zahle to visit three of its wineries.
Once inside the wineries, we'll learn about their facilities, how the Lebanese treat their vineyards and how they make wine, a product that has been fundamental to the country's economy since time immemorial!
Finally, we'll return to Beirut, to end the tour at approximately 6 pm.
