Temple of the Lamas Tour
Temple of the Lamas Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Lama Temple metro station. Once everyone has arrived, we'll enter the most important Tibetan Buddhist shrine outside of Tibet. We’re heading to the Lama Temple!
We'll make our way to the Yonghe Palace, also known as the Temple of the Lamas. As one of the most popular temples in Beijing, its rich history and stunning beauty are sure to leave you speechless.
We'll travel back to the 17th century to learn how this palace was originally built for Prince Yongzhen and later transformed into a significant monastery for Lama monks. As we explore the various traditional buildings, we’ll come across iconic features like the famous incense burners, where devotees place their incense sticks.
During the tour, we’ll enter the Falun Dian, home to a massive 6-meter (19-foot) bronze statue of Tsongkapa, the founder of the Yellow Bonnet Sect. We’ll also explore the Wanfu Ge Pavilion, the Great Hall, the Yongyou Hall, and the Hall of Happiness, ensuring we don’t miss any of these remarkable sites.
After fully exploring the Temple of the Lamas, we'll end the tour 2 hours later.
