Beijing Capital Airport Layover Tour

Tour Details

The tour is completely private, including a car, driver, and English-speaking guide from the Beijing Capital Airport pickup until drop off. Depending on how long the layover is, we'll carry out one of the following itineraries. Remember that, as this is a private tour, the itinerary can be modified according to the available time and your preferences.

When reserving, you can choose between the following itineraries:

5-hour Beijing Tour

We'll have 5 hours to visit locations such as Tiananmen Square, one of the main points in Beijing. We'll also discover the Forbidden City, the largest imperial residence in China and one of the most mysterious locations in the capital.

6-hour Great Wall Tour

With this tour, we'll have 6 hours free to explore the Great Wall of China (along the Mutianyu area). The option of visiting one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World is always a hit with travellers.

9-hour Complete Tour

With this complete tour, you'll have 9 hours to visit the Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. If there's time, we'll also see the main shopping streets in Beijing.

With the Great Wall tickets, you'll also get tickets to the cable car and toboggan.

Important

Bear in mind that the total roundtrip takes approximately 1 hour and a half, and we'll have to be back at the Beijing Capital Airport 2.5 hours before the flight departure time. So, the time needed to carry out the tour will be 4 hours less than the layover. For example, a 5-hour tour is recommended for a 9-hour layover.

Please note that this tour is only available to and from the Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). If you arrive at Beijing-Daxing International Airport (PKK), the tour will not be possible due to transfer times.

Passport Info

It's important that, when making your booking, it is important the passport number is correct, as it cannot be modified afterwards.

Monument Timetables

Although the tour can be personalised, our itineraries are based on visiting the main monuments around Beijing. These are the following timetables for these locations:

• The Forbidden City: High season 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; Low season 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. If your flight arrives after 12 pm, you won't be able to visit. The Forbidden City is closed on Mondays. Therefore, if you arrive on this day, we'll visit other monuments in Beijing. Please note that availability for access to the Protected City is limited, especially on busy dates. Therefore, we recommend booking the activity at least 7 days in advance.
• The Great Wall of China: 8 am - 5:30 pm. If your flight arrives after 2 pm, you won't be able to visit.
