Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the El Encanto de los Corales Hotel and then we'll set off towards a swamp in Playa Blanca. Once night falls and everything becomes peacefully still, we'll be able to observe the magic of the luminescent plankton. Are you ready for a breathtaking experience?
After a short boat ride, we'll arrive at a secluded area where we can better see this natural phenomenon. But before we dive into the waters of the Caribbean Sea, we'll give you a short biology intro about the plankton and the marine ecosystem of Baru.
We'll also talk about the unique qualities of these peculiar microorganisms. Did you know that most of the plankton glow blue? Although you can also find them in other colors such as red, orange, or green.
The moment at last! We'll dip into the warm waters of Playa Blanca and start swimming, paddling hard. The more you shake your hands and legs, the more these blue specks will shine, a true spectacle of nature!
Finally, we'll take you back to the starting point after an hour and a half.
