Usiacurí Excursion
Usiacurí Excursion
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Barranquilla at 9 am and head towards the south of the department of Atlántico.
After a half-hour drive, we'll make a stop in the small town of Galapa, where we'll have the opportunity to see how the artisans handcraft Barranquilla's Carnival masks.
Next, we'll continue our excursion to Usiacurí, a beautiful town nestled among spectacular lush hills. Once there, we'll take a guided tour of its historic center, traveling back in time as we enter its colorful streets.
During the tour, we'll be introduced to one of the most famous people of Usiacurí: the poet Julio Flórez, who moved to this corner of Colombia for its medicinal waters. On our walk, we'll find the house-museum of the famed writer, where he died in 1923.
Before leaving, we'll pass by the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán and the iraca palm handicraft shops, where you'll have the opportunity to buy some souvenirs.
We'll finish the excursion by returning to your hotel in Barranquilla, where you'll be dropped off around 2 pm.
