Cartagena de Indias Day Trip
Cartagena de Indias Day Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Barranquilla at 6 am and take a minibus to Cartagena de Indias, the capital of the department of Bolivar. During the journey, which takes just under 2 hours, we'll enjoy breakfast consisting of fruit, a sandwich and juice - the best way to start this adventure!
Arriving in Cartagena, we'll be delighted by its colourful monuments and lively lifestyle. This historic city surrounded by the Caribbean Sea is one of the most visited cities in Colombia. Ready to find out why?
We'll visit the neighbourhoods of Bocagrande, Laguito and Castillo Grande and talk about the differences between the inner and outer bay of Cartagena. After visiting the Convent of La Popa, we'll recover our strength with a well-deserved typical lunch at the restaurant La Mulata.
Afterwards, we'll go up to the Fort of San Felipe de Barajas and dive into the history of this historic defensive fortress. You'll also have some free time to admire the vaults and stroll among the many stalls selling local crafts and jewellery.
To end the day, we'll visit the Gold Museum and Bolivar Square, two of the undisputed symbols of Cartagena de Indias, the perfect finishing touch to the excursion!
We'll be back at the hotels in Barranquilla at 5 pm.
