Bocas de Ceniza Day Trip
Bocas de Ceniza Day Trip
At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Barranquilla and set off northbound. After 30 minutes on the road, we'll come to the mouth of the Magdalena River (Rio Grande de la Magdalena).
When we get there, we'll hop aboard a tourist train to take a 7.5-mile (12-kilometre) ride through the incredible landscapes of Bocas de Ceniza. This spot is well-known due to being the site where this river meets the Caribbean Sea.
After the train ride, we'll walk to the exact point where we can see the mouth of the river. Here, we'll be able to admire how the waters from the sea and the river meet, creating a unique blend of colours.
We'll also be able to make out the great infrastructure that was built in 1936 to channel the waters of the longest riverbed in Colombia. This feat of engineering is one of the largest in the country.
It'll then be time to return to Barranquilla in our bus and drop you off at your hotel at around 1 pm.
