Barranquilla Bike Tour
At the time indicated, we'll meet at the Mirador de la Sierra building to start this fun bike tour around the centre of Barranquilla. Are you ready to explore the city on two wheels? Let's go!
We'll give everyone their bikes and helmets and explore the neighbourhoods of El Prado, Abajo and the esplanade in Barranquilla. As well as being one of the best ways of transport, we'll be doing exercise at the same time! What more could you ask for?
Firstly, we'll head to the Estadio Romelio Martínez stadium, a symbol of sport in the city. From here, we'll go to the neighbourhood of El Prado, where we'll pass the statue of Joe Arroyo, the Elías Chewin Basketball Stadium and Suri Salcedo Park. Make sure you have your cameras at the ready!
In the heart of this neighbourhood, we'll visit Fundadores Park and the Monumento de la Bandera, both important testimonies to the history of Barranquilla. Plus, we'll also make a stop at the Sugar Baby Coliseum and the Amira de la Rosa Theatre, two spots of huge cultural and artistic importance in the city.
Then, we'll go by the Edgar Rentería Baseball Stadium towards the Abajo neighbourhood, a totally charming place. We'll admire La Aduana Square, Plaza de la Paz and the majestic Metropolitana Cathedral. Did you know it's one of the largest in Colombia? Get ready to be amazed!
Before ending our bike tour, we'll head to the esplanade, the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sea breeze. Here, you'll see a statue of Shakira and the iconic Shark Fin, both contemporary symbols of Barranquilla.
After a 15 km (9 mile) ride lasting a total of 4 hours, we'll say our goodbyes back at the starting point.
