Are you a fan of the Madrigal family? Join us on this tour of the Encanto set around Barichara to discover the magic behind this Colombian-inspired Disney film.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Barichara, where we'll begin this tour of the Encanto settings. Welcome to one of the most beautiful towns in Colombia!
Firstly, we'll begin this tour by making a small sculpture evoking the cobblestoned streets from the Encanto film. There, we'll also discover how these streets are built in real life. We'll continue the tour by making a tile out of reddish stone, typical of Barichara, just like the roofs on the houses in the movie. The perfect souvenir to bring back home!
Ready to explore Barichara? The tour will continue across the Great Bridge, built in 1750, which was the path that united the Socorroc and Cabrera municipalities crossing the Barichara Gorge. There, we'll recount some of the scenes from Encanto that were inspired by this bridge, like when Mirabel crosses with the children or when Luisa shows off her gift of strength.
We'll continue strolling around the stoney streets of Barichara, passing by the Camino Real. There, we'll come across the wooden door that was the inspiration for the Madrigal family house. Sounds familiar, right? The next stop will be in front of the City Hall, which is, again, very similar to parts of the Madrigal House.
Afterwards, we'll visit the Aljibe Bookshop, where we'll have the opportunity to chat with Alejandra Espinosa Uribe, the woman who Disney based the character Maribel on. What's the real gift of the main character? What can we learn from the movie? You'll undoubtedly have loads of questions!
After taking a photo with Alejandra, we'll bring this tour of the set of Encanto to an end back at the hotels after around 5 or 6 hours together.
