We'll meet outside the Sagrada Familia, very close to the temple, to begin our visit to this monument, emblem of Barcelona and the dream of its most famous architect, Antoni Gaudí.
The Sagrada Familia is a symbol of Barcelona and the talented Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí's most ambitious project. The as-of-yet-unfinished basilica is a masterpiece of Modernist architecture and, whether you're a first-time visitor or you've seen it before, you're sure to be captivated by the intricate details and gravity-defying towers of the ever-evolving Sagrada Familia.
We'll dive straight into Gaudí's unique creation, and admire the Catholic symbolism hidden among the sculptures decorating the church's various façades, inspired by nature and composed of huge columns that form a surprising forest of stone.
As the light shines through the stained-glass windows, a rainbow of colour will illuminate the already-spectacular church.
Through informative panels and models, we'll learn how Gaudí conceived his greatest work of art by admiring his blueprints and sketches; a temple with 18 towers which, with certain changes to the original design, is becoming a reality little by little thanks to the money obtained from third-party donations and admission tickets.
