Located in Ciutat Vella, one of the main historical districts of Barcelona, the Palau de la Música Catalana is one of the great modern jewels of Barcelona.
This concert hall, the only one in the world to be declared a World Heritage Site, was designed in the early 20th century by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, one of the most important architects of Catalan modernism.
With this ticket to the Palau de la Música Catalana, you can visit its facilities for 50 minutes. Depending on the tour option you select, you'll visit the facilities with either a digital brochure or an audio guide. Both will provide interesting commentary on the building, which was inaugurated on February 9, 1908 as the headquarters of the Catalan Choral Society.
During the tour, you can admire the stage, walk through the stalls and admire the large chandelier located under the huge central glass roof that crowns the auditorium.
Be sure to check out Palau's organ, a true masterpiece that is well worth seeing. What's more, you can visit the rehearsal room of the Orfeón Catalán and the Lluís Millet room. This last room will lead you to a small terrace, where you can stop to admire its striking columns decorated with colorful mosaics.
Throughout your visit, be sure to pay attention to the details that stand out in the decor of other rooms, such as the stalls, the amphitheater, the organ galleries and, of course, the stained-glass windows that decorate the whole complex.
