Montjuïc Free Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the entrance of Montjuïc Castle to begin this exciting free tour of Montjuïc. Let's go!
We'll start by learning about the history of this fortress, which dates back to the 17th century. We'll learn about how this castle has played an important role in Barcelona's past as we admire its façade.
Next, we'll make our way to the Mirador del Alcalde, a viewpoint offering breathtaking panoramic views of Barcelona and its coastline. Don't forget to bring your camera!
Our next stop will be at Municipal Swimming Pools, famous for hosting the diving events during the 1992 Summer Olympics. From this historic location, we'll admire amazing views of the city. In fact, it's one of the most photographed spots in Montjuïc!
If you join the free tour on weekdays, we'll visit the Greek Amphitheater, a charming open-air venue used for cultural events. If you join on a weekend, we'll visit the beautifully manicured gardens of Palacete Albéniz, the royal residence in Barcelona.
Continuing our journey, we'll reach the Olympic Stadium and the surrounding Olympic Ring, two key sites of the 1992 Summer Olympics. Here, we'll learn about how the city has transformed into a global sports hub.
Next, we'll see the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC). Housed in the impressive Palau Nacional, this museum has an impressive collection of Catalan art, from Romanesque frescoes to modern masterpieces.
Finally, after 2 hours in total, we'll say our goodbyes at the National Art Museum of Catalonia.
