Venture deep into the heart of the Ecuadorian rainforest on our day trip to the Hola Vida Reserve. You'll be enchanted by the landscapes, fauna and flora found in this part of Ecuador.
Hola Vida Reserve Day Trip
At 9 am, we'll meet on Óscar Efrén Reyes Street in Baños de Agua Santa. We'll hop aboard our comfortable vehicle and set off on the 2-hour drive to the Hola Vida Reserve.
Before we get there, we'll stop at the Animal and Bird Rescue Centre. This incredible place is home to numerous rescued monkeys, birds and reptiles. We'll then drive to the Hola Vida Reserve and head into the Ecuadorian rainforest.
When we arrive, we'll see the variety of medicinal and hallucinogenic plants that can be found here. We'll also see different insects such as butterflies, beetles, spiders, giant ants and termites. While we're here, we'll also travel along part of the river in some typical small boats.
Next, we'll stop and visit the Puyango community to have a lunch of chicken with rice, salad and vegetable stew.
We'll then hike to the Hola Vida Waterfall, which is nestled in the rainforest. As you walk, you're likely to come across woodpeckers, hyla frogs and snakes such as chontas and common lanceheads. When we get to the waterfall, you'll be able to take a refreshing dip in its crystal-clear water.
Having spent an unforgettable day exploring the rainforest, we'll arrive back in Baños de Agua Santa at 9 pm.
