Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet up at Maharaj Port, where we'll embark on a boat ride through the canals of Bangkok and explore some of its secret enclaves!
After making our introductions, we'll board a traditional long-tail boat and start sailing through the waters of the Thai capital. During a one-hour cruise, we'll share all sorts of fun facts: what is the daily life of the local people like, and what are the ancient traditions they maintain to this day?
Once the boat ride is over, we'll visit the Wat Paknam temple with its impressive Big Buddha, more than 60 meters (200 feet) high! Did you know that the construction of this massive statue wasn't complete until 2021? Inside the Buddhist center, we'll talk about why the temple was given its name, which has to do with its location on the banks of the Bangkok canals.
We'll then take a short trip by public transport to the Wat Kalayanamit temple. This little-known spot is dedicated to the preservation of a relaxing space to meditate and study for the monks who reside there - an ideal place for connecting with yourself!
Afterwards, we'll go to the Portuguese district of Bangkok, home to the descendants of Portuguese settlers who moved from Ayutthaya after its decline 200 years ago. There we'll visit the Catholic church of Santa Cruz, a place of worship that has accompanied the community since its beginnings.
Four hours after the start of the tour, we'll board public transport again to head over to Chinatown and say our goodbyes.
Partial Closures
Due to ongoing construction until January 31, 2025, we can only view the Big Buddha from the outside.
