Bengaluru Myths & Legends Walking Tour

After meeting your guide at St Luke's Church, one of the city's most important Protestant churches, you'll begin your walking tour of the myths and legends of Bengaluru.

From here, you'll walk over to Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, the summer residence of the 18th century ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore. Admire the elaborate Indo-Islamic architecture and see if you can identify the palace's decorations representing tigers, the animal used as a symbol of the Sultan.

Visit the palace armoury, where you'll have the opportunity to peruse a wide range of swords, shields, firearms and cannons from many different eras of Indian history. As you explore the palace complex, you'll discover that its walls hide endless myths and legends. Your expert guide will reveal these secrets to you throughout the tour, but can you separate the fact from the fiction?

Moving on, you'll delve deep into the historic centre of Bengaluru, formerly called Bangalore, where you'll learn the most far-fetched tales about the Karnataka capital. You'll stroll past some of the city's important temples, including Kote Venkataramana Swamy, and see traditional Indian homes.

Your guided myths and legends tour will come to an end at Bangalore Fort. This 16th century fortress was once a stronghold of Tipu Sultan and was captured by the British East India Company in the 18th century. These days, it's a tranquil escape from the bustle of the city, however that doesn't mean it's not full of secrets... are you ready to discover them?
