Snowshoe Trek in Banff
Snowshoe Trek in Banff
When making your reservation, you'll be able to choose which Banff snowshoeing tour you prefer. Both include transport by bus or minibus, snowshoe and pole rental, and an English-speaking guide.
Here are the specifics of each option:
Trek through Paint Pots
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the Mount Royal Hotel parking lot and head west to the boundary of Kootenay National Park, just half an hour from the city. Are you ready for a jam-packed day in the Canadian wilderness?
Once we've strapped on all the equipment, we'll set off on a 3-km (1.86-mile) snowshoe hike. We'll enjoy the snow under our feet while admiring the historic Paint Pots, as well as the frozen lakes of Banff.
The Paint Pots are mineral deposits that were used by early settlers to paint rocks. We'll also take a short break to replenish our energy with a delicious hot chocolate and some maple syrup candy – the perfect way to warm up a bit!
The route will come to an end back at the starting point, where we'll take off the equipment and get back on the minibus back to the hotels in Banff. We'll arrive back at the meeting point after a total of 4 hours of activity.
Trek through Marble Canyon
At the selected time, we'll meet at the Mount Royal Hotel parking lot and then set out toward Kootenay National Park for a snowshoeing tour in Marble Canyon.
Along the route, you'll fall in love with the colors of this canyon, a 40-meter (131-foot) limestone gorge that has been worn down over centuries by the gushing waters of Tokumn Creek. While hiking, we'll tell you tons of fascinating facts about the natural environment that surrounds us. Also, keep an eye out for the tracks of some hares, moose, or wolves!
After the hike, we'll enjoy a uniquely Canadian treat, hot maple syrup that we'll pour into the snow to make a sweet frozen candy. Yum!
Finally, after 4 hours of activity, we'll say our goodbyes back at the meeting point in Banff.
