Brusque & Nova Trento Excursion
Brusque & Nova Trento Excursion
After picking you up at your hotel between 8 and 9 am, we'll travel by bus to São João Batista, the first stop of the day.
Located in the Tijucas River Valley, this city saw the arrival of more than 100 immigrants from Sardinia in the early 19th century, making it one of the first Italian colonies in Brazil. During this visit, we'll attend a fair where we'll find regional products such as shoes, which São João Batista is famous for... will you be able to resist the temptation to pick up a pair for yourself?
Next, we'll make our way to the town of Nova Trento, another important location for Italian immigration. We'll start by visiting the Museum of Italian Culture, which houses numerous field tools, kitchen utensils, and decorative elements, many of which are more than 100 years old!
We'll then head up to Morro da Cruz for panoramic views of the city from the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora del Buen Socorro, perched at an altitude of 1,722 feet (525 meters). After taking the obligatory photos, we'll stop at a typical Italian cantina for you to have lunch on your own.
Following lunch, we'll return to the bus to go to the Sanctuary of Santa Paulina, one of the most important Christian pilgrimage sites in Brazil. Did you know that this temple was built as a tribute to the country's first saint? You'll learn all about this saint by visiting other nearby places that tell her story. We'll see the Church of Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, the silk museum where the saint worked, and the Immaculate Conception Spirituality Center where she lived.
Before continuing, we'll make another stop for those who would like to buy some typical regional products. We'll stop for a brief visit to a wine cellar and a store specializing in handmade chocolates.
Afterward, we'll head towards Brusque to continue with a shopping tour at the Feira da Moda. You'll have up to two hours free to wander around this shopping center with 200 clothing and footwear stores, cafés and restaurants.
The tour ends with our return to the pickup hotels.
