Balinese Wedding Ceremony

Perfect. Driver, photographer, translator, makeup artists, priest, ceremony team, cook, musicians, craftsman (I believe there are more than 25 people involved in the activity) are all very professional and dedicated. The ceremony and rituals were very beautiful and full of meaning. We felt special. At the end we even received the photos and a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

Balinese Wedding Ceremony

After being picked up from your hotel at 2 pm, you'll be taken to Kemenuh, a traditional Bali town near Ubud, where you'll celebrate your wedding. You'll start with the purification ceremony: according to local tradition, the bride and groom must be purified with water from the town's sacred springs to cleanse themselves of negative thoughts and energies before uniting their souls in matrimony.

The ceremony will be performed in a typical Balinese house, where you'll first be welcomed with tea and coffee. You'll then be dressed and coiffed in the style of Bali royalty, in traditional wedding clothes known as Payas Agung.

A Balinese priest will perform the wedding rites, which will be attended by a group of men and women in typical Balinese dress. After different symbolic rituals and offerings, you'll cut a thread which represents the change from single to married life.

To conclude the ceremony, your Balinese guests will carry you on thrones in a procession to a family temple, where you are free to pray according to your own beliefs.

Once you've finished the traditional rituals, you'll enjoy a romantic meal (including chicken, vegetables and rice). Savour the authentic Balinese cuisine accompanied by a bottle of local wine.

As part of your experience, you'll have a photographer documenting your special day and compiling an album for you to remember the ceremony, and you'll also enjoy typical Balinese musicians playing traditional songs throughout the day.

Around 9 pm, you'll be dropped off back at your hotel.

Just for fun, not a legal wedding

This Balinese wedding is not recognised by law and is not a legal ceremony. It is instead a ceremony allowing you to celebrate your love in a traditional spiritual way.
