Explore the history and craftwork of Azerbaijan with this private tour of the National History Museum and the fascinating Carpet Museum.
Baku Museums Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Baku at the indicated time and head to the first stop: the Azerbaijan National History Museum, located in one of the greenest areas in the capital. This is the largest museum in the country and is located in the Zaynaladbdin Taghiyev Palace, which was founded in 1920 and opened to the public the following year.
We'll enter this Italian Renaiancesse-style building, designed by Polish architect Józef Goslawski, and we'll start our guided tour, admiring the most important elements, including exhibitions on ancient and medieval history.
Next, we'll take a pleasant 15-minute walk to the Carpet Museum; one of the most visited places in Baku. The outside of this building is sure to make an impression, as it's been designed to look like a roll of carpet. It's not every day you see a building like that!
Inside we can see its permanent exhibition, which houses more than 10,000 ceramic objects, 14th-century works, jewellery from the Bronze Age, traditional outfits and, of course, carpets sewn between the 17th and 20th centuries.
We'll bring you back to your hotel 4 hours after pick up, bringing the tour to an end.
