Gobustan and Absheron Tour
Gobustan and Absheron Tour
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at the Baku City Tour's Office and take you on a tour of the Absheron Peninsula. Our first stop is the site of the city's first oil well, which was drilled in 1871.
We'll continue our journey by passing by the Bibi-Heybat mosque, and then make our way to Gobustan National Park, where we'll admire its more than 6,000 petroglyphs, which range from the Upper Palaeolithic to the Middle Ages. There we'll also have the opportunity to board an old Soviet cab to get closer to the mud volcanoes which are protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
After admiring these wonderful mud formations, we'll continue with the tour by heading to the vicinity of Baku to have a buffet lunch around 1 pm.
Finally, we'll go to the Absheron peninsula to see the Yanar Dag fire mountain and visit the magical Temple of Fire where we'll learn the basics of Zoroastrianism, a mysterious religion of the area.
We'll conclude the tour by arriving back at the meeting point in Baku after 7.5 hours.
