The province of Jaen is the home of olive oil and you can find all about it when you visit the Olive Museum in Baeza and the town's oil mill.

Description

At the specified time, we'll begin at the entrance of the Olive Culture Museum, where you'll have the opportunity to tour one of the finest olive tourism facilities in Andalusia, guided by an expert in Spanish.

During the tour, we'll learn the ins and outs of this industry, examining the 30+ varieties of olive trees that we'll find in the Garden of Varieties, as well as the old pressing systems and equipment from the 19th century.

We'll then make our way to the olive oil cellar, dating back to 1848. Here, you'll notice the central European influence on the building's incredible architecture - which was made a Cultural Heritage Site in 2007.

Next, an expert Spanish-speaking guide will demonstrate how the oil mill works, giving you a real idea of the modern-day process of production and extraction of olive oil in the 21st century.

To conclude the tour, we'll take an introductory course in olive oil tasting in the old 19th-century factory. You'll learn how to distinguish between the different varieties of oil and check its quality, as well as discover the different properties of liquid gold.

After 1 hour and 45 minutes in total, this tour will come to an end.
