Why Visit Badajoz Cathedral?

The Metropolitan Cathedral of San Juan Bautista is one of the great jewels of Badajoz's heritage.

With this ticket, you'll visit the cathedral with an audio guide, where authentic works of art stand out, like in the Main Chapel, where elements from between the 18th and 21st centuries coexist. Along the way, admire the incredible architecture of the choir stalls, which date back to the 16th century.

Other surprises await you inside the church, like the Gothic vaults of the Sagrario Chapel and a bronze lamp from the Congress of Deputies in Madrid.

With your ticket to Badajoz Cathedral, you can also go up to the bell tower viewpoint. Reaching the top of this 41-metre (131 feet) tower means climbing 142 steps but the effort is well worth it! At the top, you'll enjoy the best views of the city.

If you opt for the full-entry ticket, you can also visit the cloister, which houses the Italian Renaissance tomb of Lorenzo Suárez de Figueroa, the ambassador of the Catholic Monarchs. This ticket will also give you access to the Cathedral Museum of Badajoz. Its most important works include paintings by Morales, El Greco, Arellano, Palomino, Bocanegra and Orrente.

Booking Options:

When you make your reservation, you can choose from one of the following options:

• Partial ticket: includes access to the cathedral and the bell tower.
• Full ticket: includes access to the cathedral, the bell tower, the cloister and the Cathedral Museum.

Opening Hours

Regardless of the type of booking you make, you can enjoy your ticket with an audio guide from Tuesday to Saturday at the following times:

• From June to August: from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the church is also open from 7:30 pm to 9:30 am.
• From September to May: from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Reduced Admission

This ticket applies to those over 65, the unemployed, people with recognized disabilities, young people up to 18 and members of large families. All these people must present the corresponding identification documentation.
