We'll meet at the time of your choice at the dock on Avenida 5. There we'll board a brand new sailboat and begin a magical journey through Lake Bacalar, also known as the Lake of the Seven Colors.
During the tour, we'll visit Cenote Esmeralda, a dreamy space that will remind you of a Caribbean beach surrounded by a bank of fine sand. Did you know that the different colors of Lake Bacalar are due to the calcium and sulfur found underground? These two minerals are responsible for giving this freshwater paradise its sea-like appearance.
We'll also pass by Cenote Negro, Cenote Azul, Birds Island and the stromatolite area. As an added bonus, while you take in the stunning landscapes, you'll be able to enjoy guacamole with water and beer aboard the sailboat.
We'll explore the mangrove area as well, where we'll see three different varieties: red, white and button mangroves. These aquatic forests serve as a refuge for animals such as hawks, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!
After three and a half hours of sailing, we'll return to the starting point and the activity will conclude.
