Ayacucho Private Tour
Ayacucho Private Tour
At the selected time, the guide will pick you up from your hotel and you'll set off on a 3 and a half hour tour around the centre of Ayacucho to learn all about the city's fascinating history.
The first stop will be the Plaza Mayor, a square where you'll see some of the most iconic buildings in the city such as the magnificent baroque Cathedral and the Casa de Baza y Solís colonial house. Then we'll visit the Hipólito Unanue Museum, where we'll find out all about ancient Peruvian civilizations: Chimú, Moche, Wari and Inca.
Afterwards we'll explore the streets of Ayacucho and discover why it's known as "the city of churches". We'll pass the Santa Teresa de las Carmelitas Descalzas Monastery as well as the Church of Santo Domingo.
Next we'll head through the Santa Ana neighbourhood to learn about some of the local crafts, such as huamanga stone carving and weaving. And we've saved the best for last! Our last stop will be at the Acuchimay Viewpoint, where we'll enjoy breathtaking views of the city.
