Huatuscalla & Huanta Excursion
Huatuscalla & Huanta Excursion
At 9:15 am, we'll meet at Plaza de Armas, the main square in Ayacucho where we'll set off on a day full of idyllic places that'll make you feel in harmony with nature.
We'll start by heading towards the Huatuscalla canyon, one of the highest altitude areas in the district of Luricocha. From the moment we arrive, you'll be blown away by landscapes of valleys, basins, and gorges. We'll arrive at the town of Huatuscalla, located at 3,060 meters above sea level, and begin a 30-minute hike up a gentle slope to the viewpoint of Huatuscalla.
From here, we'll enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the union of the Huarpa and Cachi rivers, which join to form the Mantaro River. After taking photos of this spectacle of nature, we'll head into town where you'll have free time to have lunch on your own.
Afterward, we'll hop back on the bus to visit the city of Huanta, known as the Emerald of the Andes. We'll go on a tour of the town admiring its main monuments such as the Matriz Church, the Municipal Palace and its great variety of archaeological sites and ruins. At the end of the tour, we'll stop for a delicious tasting of huanteño liquors!
Finally, we'll return to Ayacucho and drop you off at the meeting point at 5 pm.
