Somiedo Natural Park Day Trip
Somiedo Natural Park Day Trip
At the selected time we'll meet at the Avilés Central Station and head southwest until we reach the Somiedo Natural Park, one of the most spectacular natural areas in Asturias. You'll enjoy a personalized experience in a smaller group, limited to a maximum of 8 people. Our compact-size vehicles allow us to explore inaccessible locations, such as the Aguino or Perlunes viewpoints, for larger excursions and venture beyond the main tourist areas.
We'll then arrive in Perlunes, a town located in the heart of the Somiedo Natural Park, which is home to the Cantabrian brown bear and some of Spain's most spectacular valleys and lakes. This particular park is made up of four different valleys and is located in the central part of the Cantabrian Mountains.
Our route will continue to Pola de Somiedo. This beautiful village appears in the book A Journey through Spain in the years 1786 and 1787 by the English researcher Joseph Townsend, who speaks admiringly of its natural beauty. In this charming town, we'll also visit the Somiedo Natural Park Interpretation Centre.
Next, we'll head to Alto Farrapona, where we'll go on a hike across the surroundings until we reach the Saliencia Lakes, one of the most breathtaking places in the park. We'll explore the area for 1 hour and take pictures of this breathtaking natural setting. Later, we'll visit the Ecomuseum of Somiedo, which is the perfect place to learn about the life and rural essence of this area.
Finally, we'll finish the excursion by returning to Avilés, arriving between 10 and 11 hours after initial pickup.
