Follow in the footsteps of the famous Dutch artist and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence with this Provence Van Gogh Tour. A unique route for lovers of expressionism!
Description
"I dream my painting and paint my dream." To discover more about Van Gogh's time in Provence, we'll meet at the indicated time at 41 Cours Jean Jaurès.
The first item of the day will be a photo stop in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where Van Gogh painted his famous work of art 'The Starry Night'. In this village, if you wish, you'll have time to visit the recreation of Van Gogh's old room.
Next, we'll head to Arles, the city where the artist lived from 1888 onwards. When we arrive, we'll take a walking tour of its historic centre and see the symbolic Café Van Gogh, its entrance was painted by the artist in his famous post-impressionist work 'Café Terrace at Night'. We'll also take a walk along the Arenes de Arles: one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters in the south of France.
You'll then have 30 minutes of free time. On Saturdays, you can visit the popular weekly market in Arles. Finally, the tour will end by returning to Avignon, arriving back at the starting point after 6 hours of exploring.
