On this guided tour of Austin, we'll take you to discover the history and the most emblematic alleys and monuments of the centre of the capital of Texas.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of Jo's Coffee. From there, we'll start this guided tour of Austin, in which we'll walk through the historic centre of the capital of Texas.
As you make your way through the heart of Austin, you'll walk along Congress Avenue. This is the street that leads directly to one of the city's most important landmarks, the Texas Capitol.
However, before we admire this impressive structure, we'll pass the historic Speakeasy bar. Standing in front of this famous bar, we'll show you some before and after images of this area of Austin. You'll be impressed!
We'll continue crossing this important avenue until we reach the monument we were talking about before, the Capitol. Here's a fun fact about this building: did you know that it's bigger than the Capitol in Washington DC? It's amazing!
After enjoying the beauty of this monument, built in 1888 in neo-Renaissance style, we'll stop to admire the Moody Theatre. This is a modern live music venue that hosts an average of 100 concerts a year. Moreover, it has a capacity for 2750 people. If you have the chance to spend a few days in Austin, we highly recommend visiting it!
After an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half stroll through the highlights of the Texan capital, we'll end our guided tour of Austin at the starting point.
