On this free tour of the Centennial Olympic Park, we'll uncover the mysteries behind one of the most famous sporting events in Atlanta's history as we journey through the 90s. Get ready for a real blast from the past!

Description

We'll meet at the Centennial Olympic Park ringside at the indicated time to explore an important chapter in Atlanta's sporting history.

Throughout our free tour, we'll learn a lot of interesting facts about the 1996 Olympic Games, discovering the true impact of this great sporting event on the city of Atlanta.

We'll walk through a number of important city squares that make reference to the Olympic Games in different ways, from a tribute to the athletes of Ancient Greece to an overview of all the cities that hosted the Games in previous editions. We'll also check out a sculpture of Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games.

We'll also remember the tragic terrorist attack that took place during the Atlanta Olympics while retracing its consequences.

During the final stretch of our tour, we'll walk past a number of culturally significant landmarks, such as the Georgia Aquarium, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, the World of Coca-Cola exhibition, the Skyview Atlanta Ferris Wheel and the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel.

The tour will come to a close after about an hour and 15 minutes before we say our goodbyes near the original starting point.
