Tickets to the Ancient Agora of Athens
Why Visit the Ancient Agora of Athens?
The Ancient Agora of Athens was a collection of public buildings that hosted a variety of commercial, religious, political, cultural, and social activities in Ancient Greece. Not only did it serve as a government centre, where Athenians could gather to debate laws, but also a sacred site featuring temples dedicated to the worship of their gods.
Although the majority of the structures have not survived the passage of time, the buildings that still remain allow us to get a good idea of what this spectacular open space used to look like.
With this ticket, you'll be able to admire the Stoa of Attalos, what we now think of as a shopping centre, and is currently home to the Museum of Agora. Inside, you'll get to see precious artefacts uncovered during archaeological excavations of the area.
You'll also get to know one of the best-preserved temples from Antiquity: the Temple of Hephaestus. Found on the Agoraios Kolonos hill, this building is notable for its Doric columns and frescos representing some of the most important mythological battles of Classical Greece.
