Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the National Library of Greece to begin this tour of Greek mythology in Athens. Let us tell you about some of the best-known myths, and the lesser-known ones too!
What is Athen's foundation myth? Which deity is the patron saint that protects the city? Why was the Acropolis built? We'll reveal the answer to all these questions on this mythological tour of Athens, a city where legends lie under every stone.
We'll travel back to an era of which there are still many unsolved mysteries. We'll admire the exterior of the legendary Academy of Athens, home to the only sculptures of Plato and Socrates in the city, and the Numismatic Museum, which tells the story of ancient Greek coins and how they played a crucial role in the economy and politics of the time.
Afterwards, we'll stroll through the National Garden and in front of the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the Arch of Hadrian. At each of these places, we'll stop to listen to various myths where the gods of the Greek pantheon, such as Zeus, Poseidon, Aphrodite and company, are the protagonists. It will be an exciting journey through Greek mythology, philosophy, and poetry, as we cannot talk about myths without remembering the great Athenian philosophers and poets.
Finally, after a total of 2 hours, we'll say our goodbyes in front of the Acropolis Museum.
