Towering above Athens is the Acropolis, home to some of the most important buildings of Ancient Greece, including the Parthenon, the temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheum and the Theatre of Dionysus.
Moreover, from this vantage point, you'll enjoy wonderful views of the city of Athens, and perhaps come to understand why the Acropolis played a fundamental defensive role in Ancient Greece.

The Acropolis of Athens is open at the following times:
- From April 1st to October 31st: between 8 am and 6 pm
- From November 1st to March 31st: between 8 am and 5 pm
The last admission allowed is one hour before closing time, although please note that these times are flexible and may change. Please note you can redeem your Acropolis ticket only on the day and time slot you choose when booking.
The Acropolis Museum
The entrance ticket to the Acropolis Museum will give you access to this exhibition which houses sculptures, remains of reliefs and other original pieces from the Parthenon and other buildings on the site.
In fact, this museum complex houses the Caryatids, the female columns of the Erechtheum. The ones that are currently in the Acropolis are reproductions to avoid the deterioration of the pieces in the open air. You can discover this and many other curiosities on the museum's information panels.
Acropolis Museum Opening Hours
The Acropolis Museum is open at the following times:
- From April 1st to October 31st: between 9 am and 5 pm on Mondays; between 9 am and 8 pm from Tuesday to Thursday and on Sundays; between 9 am and 10 pm on Fridays.
- From November 1st to March 31st: between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Thursday; between 9 am and 10 pm on Fridays; and between 9 am and 8 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Please note that these opening hours are flexible and may vary. You can redeem your Acropolis Museum ticket any day that suits your schedule, within opening hours.
Important Info
- The travel date and/or entry time slot cannot be changed for any reason.
- This offer only includes normal admission at adult price and can be used by people of all ages to enter at full price.
- From 1 April 2025, EU citizens under 25 and non-EU citizens under 18 will be able to enter free of charge on presentation of their ID at the ticket office.
- For those over 65, a 50% discount will be granted. This discount will only be applied at the ticket office or on the website.
- As the monument operates in time slots, there is no guarantee that free tickets will be available at the ticket office for the time slot of your choice.
- Entry is only permitted during the selected time slot or 15 minutes before or after.
- People with disabilities can enter free of charge on presentation of their disability certificate at the ticket office.
