Tour of Royal Hill of Ambohimanga
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Antananarivo at 8:30 am and travel in a comfortable minibus to the Royal Hill of Ambohimanga, 14 miles (23 km) from the capital of Madagascar.
Upon arrival, we'll explore Ambohimanga in full, visiting the citadel and the necropolis. The royal hill has great historical and religious significance for the African country and is a symbol of the Malagasy national identity.
You'll learn all about this unique archaeological site, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We'll walk through the Palace of Ambohimanga, one of the 12 sacred hills of Imerina, while listening to interesting facts about this sacred place. Did you know that it was the residence of King Andrianaponimerina and that he divided the kingdom into four parts?
After touring the Royal Hill of Ambohimanga, we'll return to your hotel, finishing around 12:30 pm.
