Free Walking Tour of Asunción

We'll meet at the scheduled time at the Pantheon of the Heroes, a monument and mausoleum dedicated to the national heroes of Paraguay. Located in the centre of the city, this is the perfect starting point to begin this free tour of Asunción.

Walking a couple of steps we'll arrive at Plaza de la Democracia Square, a public space perfect for relaxing and checking out the daily life of the locals. This location is not only a green area in the centre of the city, but also a great site of great historical and political importance. During the tour, we'll disover why!

We'll continue our tour visiting the historic Cathedral Pharmacy, one of the oldest pharmacies in Asunción, and then we'll head to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Asunción. The architecture here is absolutely amazing!

From there, we'll make our way to the Casona de Lynch and the National Archive, where you can learn more about the history and architecture of the colonial era - a real journey into the past!

Our next stop will be at the Plaza Uruguaya Square and we'll visit the old railway station, which now serves as a museum. Here you'll be able to learn about the history of the railways in Paraguay and see some old trains.

After around 3 hours together, we'll bring this tour to an end at the Agustín Pío Barrios Music Museum, dedicated to the famous Paraguayan Guitarists and composer. This museum offers an interesting collection of instruments and documents celebrating Barrios' life and works.
