Pompeii & Mount Vesuvius Excursion
After picking you up at your hotel in Ascea at 7 am, we'll board a comfortable bus and head to the ancient city of Pompeii.
At this iconic archaeological park, we'll discover the history of one of the most visited sites in the world, brought to light in 1748 after the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Walking through the streets of ancient Pompeii, which has remained intact over time, we will visit its most emblematic places, including the House of the Faun, a beautiful Roman villa dating from the 2nd century BC, the Amphitheater, the Forum of Pompeii and the famous Temple of Apollo. Did you know that the bronze statue of the Greek god shooting an arrow can still be found here?
After the visit to the archaeological site of Pompeii, we'll take a break for lunch (not included). After refueling at one of the restaurants in the area, we'll regroup to head to the second stop on our tour, Mount Vesuvius.
We'll climb to the top at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level, taking the path of the Vesuvius National Park that leads to the Gran Cono. Upon reaching this great crater, we'll take in stunning views of the Bay of Naples and the city. Time to break out that camera!
Afterward, we'll descend to the beginning of the path and take the bus back to Ascea. We'll arrive at your respective hotels around 7:30 pm, after twelve hours of exploring.
