Description
Meet us at the Lake Duluti Registration Office, where we'll hop in a 4x4 that will take us to Lake Duluti, about 20 minutes from Arusha. Along the way, catch glimpses of the Great Rift Valley.
Upon arriving at this natural reserve in northern Tanzania, we'll get going on our hiking adventure along Lake Duluti. Our journey will include insights into the formation of this lake reserve within a volcanic crater, as well as guidance on interpreting the unique local flora and fauna that grace this remarkable environment.
Throughout our excursion, we'll actively identify the various reptiles and avian species that we encounter along our path. With an ecosystem boasting over 130 bird species, keep your eyes peeled for ospreys, cormorants, grey herons, egrets, and kingfishers. As we explore, we'll be treated to breathtaking views of both Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.
Our lakeside walk will conclude at the meeting point, where a 4x4 vehicle will be ready to transport us back to Arusha approximately 4 hours after our departure.
